Pixar - Storytelling

Gotta come up with the story beats. The extreme basics of what happens - something with a cause and effect.

The story spine applied to The Iron Giant:
Once upon a time there was a boy called Hogarth.
Every day he'd go out and make friends with the local wildlife.
Until one day he met a giant robot.
Because of that he made a new friend.
Because of that he met a father figure.
Because of that he was happy.
Until one day, the US Army found out about his robot and tried to launch a nuclear attack on his town, but it luckily he was saved by the robot.
And ever since then, he thinks about his robot friend, Hogarth, his mum and Dean the new guy lived happily ever after.

The first act:

Hogarth is a curious kid who's power goes out, so he goes searching and finds a big robot.

Act two:

Hogarth and his giant friend have some fun, but the CIA is on their case. They move the robot to the junkyard ( for food and for refuge ) they also meet nice guy Dean who assists them.

Act three:

The Army find out about the giant and they attack. Using all of their forces to the point on self destruction, until they're saved by the robot they were attacking. Hogarth needs to let the giant go, shown by him releasing the final screw. Hogarth has nice guy Dean now.
