James Brown was a NZ cartoonist. He's considered our first political cartoonist.
In the 1890's newspapers were frequently printing cartoons.
During WWI there were "patriotic" (That probably means propaganda) cartoons.
David Low was a cartoonist. I just thought I'd add that one in because I used to drive on a road named after him. The more you know. Hitler got so angry at David Low that he put him on "The List".
Fred O'Neil made some animations and such. It's some funky looking claymation stuff. This man was a pioneer in anti smoking media, he saved us all.
Bob Stenhouse was nominated for an Oscar for The Frog, The Dog and The Devil.
Joe Wylie also makes animations.
Murray Ball created Footrot Flats.
